Seeds found in a bag of purchased flower are a common starting point for curious growers. Such finds are usually regular weed seeds only when the plant was pollinated by a nearby male, whereas seeds caused by a stressed, self-pollinating female tend to be female and may carry that same tendency. Without knowing the source, there is no reliable way to tell which case applies. Growing them out and watching carefully during flowering is the only practical test.
